Goura Purnima Celebration

Gaura Purnima celebration marks the appearance of 'Chaitanya Mahaprabhu'. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is the Supreme Person, Krishna Himself, appearing as His own devotee, to teach us that one can gain perfection simply by chanting the holy names of the Lord:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare

Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

On 12th March 2017, the celebration started with Nagar Sankirtan. The deities of Gaura Nitai personally wandered through the roads distributing the love of Krishna. All hands were up in the air, as the devotees were singing, "Gaura! Gaura! Gaura Hari! Nitai -Gauranga ! Gaura Hari !!

Then the Deities of Gaura-Nitai were bathed in pancamrta – five kinds of nectar ingredients – ghee, sugar, honey, yoghurt and milk.

H.G. Sachipran prabhu delivered a wonderful class on 'Gaura Katha'. He said, "Generally we have to give a gift in someone's birthday party but Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who is supremely merciful has come with the gift of Holyname in His own birthday party. Please accept it! "

After katha, the winners of ISKCON 50/50 campaign were felicitated with GBC certificates. The festival concluded with Maha-arti, 56-bhog darshan and sumptuous Mahaprasad.

Goura Purnima Maha Mahotsav ki jai !!
